Technical Buyer
Job Description:
- Source and procure technical materials, engineered components, and subcontract services to support production requirements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, leading negotiations on pricing, lead times, and contract terms.
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure purchased parts meet quality and compliance standards.
- Manage the full purchasing process from RFQ through to delivery, expediting urgent orders where required.
- Monitor market trends, manage supplier performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved competitiveness.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records using ERP/MRP systems and resolve invoice queries promptly.
Technical Buyer
Essential:
- Previous experience within a Technical Buyer, Buyer, or Procurement role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications (mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic).
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
