Title: Buyer
Location: Shipley
Salary: up to £37,000
Elevation Recruitment Group's Procurement & Supply Chain division are supporting a growing Manufacturer in Shipley in their search for an experienced Buyer.
The Buyer will work alongside the Senior Buyer to support buying and negotiating across a broad range of SKUs and categories. Alongside joining a supportive Manager, the Buyer will receive a flexible working arrangement as well as:
- Competitive salary of £33,000 – £37,000
- 37.5-hour working week with flex-e-time
- Private medical cover
- 13:00 finish on Fridays
- Gym membership discount
Key duties of the Buyer will include:
- Negotiating prices with suppliers and placing purchase orders, ensuring delivery promises are maintained
- Engaging with project and engineering teams to communicate and improve delivery schedules
- Reviewing and developing suppliers, negotiating contracts with new and existing suppliers
- Working cross-functionally with business units to improve processes and update systems accordingly
Key Skills & Experience required:
- Experience in procurement within a manufacturing / engineering environment
- Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasive skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within teams and engage with various business units
- A problem-solving mindset with strategic thinking and planning capabilities
- A proactive approach to suggesting and implementing process improvements
