CAD Engineer
Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist manufacturer to recruit a CAD Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD Engineer who enjoys working on bespoke projects rather than repetitive design work. You'll play a key role in translating customer requirements into practical manufacturing solutions, supporting projects from initial concept through to production.
Working closely with customers, production, and commercial teams, you'll be responsible for creating accurate CAD models, developing manufacturing documentation, and ensuring designs are fit for manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify 3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks
- Interpret customer requirements and develop practical engineering solutions
- Produce manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and production guides
- Work closely with production teams to ensure designs are optimised for manufacture
- Support new product introduction and development activities
- Review designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency
- Maintain product and technical documentation to a high standard
- Assist with technical problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support technical reviews and ensure engineering data remains accurate and up to date
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and commercial teams where required
About You
We are looking for a CAD Engineer with:
- Strong 3D CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks
- Experience producing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
- A background within manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, or production environments
- The ability to interpret customer requirements and convert them into practical designs
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to engineering challenges
