CAD Designer – Sheet Metal Manufacturing
Location: Biggleswade
Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 DOE
Hours: Day Shift – Full time or part time candidates considered
Actio Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CAD Designer to join a well-established sheet metal manufacturing company based in Biggleswade.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled designer looking to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting projects from concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks.
- Creating manufacturing drawings for sheet metal fabrication.
- Developing designs in line with customer specifications and production requirements.
- Preparing accurate material and labour cost calculations.
- Liaising with customers, engineers, and production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the design and manufacturing process.
- Maintaining accurate design documentation and revision control.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a CAD Designer role within sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing.
- Proficient in SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and manufacturing methods.
- Experience producing cost calculations and quotations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and customer specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
