Lecturer – Carpentry
Location: Slough
Salary: £31,633 – £45,341 per annum
Contract: Full Time, Permanent (37 hours per week)

A leading Further Education provider in the South East is seeking a Lecturer in Carpentry to deliver high-quality teaching and practical training to learners studying Carpentry programmes.

The Role
You will deliver engaging theory and practical sessions across Carpentry programmes, supporting learners throughout their studies and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering practical and classroom-based teaching across Level 1 and Level 2 Carpentry programmes
- Planning schemes of work and preparing engaging lesson materials
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback
- Acting as a Personal Tutor and providing pastoral support where required
- Maintaining accurate learner records and tracking achievement
- Supporting curriculum development and quality improvement activities
- Building positive relationships with employers, parents and external stakeholders
- Promoting high standards of health and safety within workshop environments
- Embedding Maths and English into vocational learning
What We're Looking For
- Level 2 or above qualification in Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery
- Industry experience within Carpentry and Joinery
- Level 2 Maths and English qualifications
- Previous teaching, training or mentoring experience
- Strong organisational and classroom management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and learner success
Desirable:
- Teaching qualification (Level 4, Level 5, PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent)
- Assessor qualification
- Experience delivering vocational qualifications within Further Education or Apprenticeships
