On behalf of NatWest, we are looking for a Change Manager – Financial Crime for a 12-month contract. The role can be based in Edinburgh, London, or Manchester and will operate on a hybrid working model.
Purpose of the role:
To lead the end-to-end change delivery of a new Customer Monitoring capability as part of a Financial Crime transformation programme, enabling the transition from a legacy rules-based Transaction Monitoring environment to a modern, model-driven and analytics-led platform that strengthens compliance, scalability, and risk detection.
What you'll do:
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional delivery across business, technology, operations, and vendor teams to implement the Customer Monitoring capability.
- Drive the transition from legacy Transaction Monitoring systems to a modern, analytics-led Financial Crime monitoring platform.
- Ensure successful delivery of change initiatives that meet regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Oversee end-to-end change management activities including planning, execution, governance, and stakeholder alignment.
- Manage dependencies across multiple workstreams to ensure integrated and timely delivery.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to provide updates, manage expectations, and secure alignment on key decisions.
- Support the design and implementation of scalable, robust, and future-ready monitoring solutions within a complex banking environment.
- Mitigate delivery risks and ensure effective resolution of issues across business, technology, and vendor partners.
The skills you'll need:
- Significant experience in senior change, delivery or business change role within Financial Crime transformation.
- Strong experience delivering Transaction Monitoring, Customer Monitoring, Sanctions or other Financial Crime solutions in a banking or financial services environment.
- Proven track record of working with third-party vendors / implementation partners to deliver technology and operating model change.
- Strong understanding of the change lifecycle, including mobilisation, planning, implementation, testing, cutover, readiness and post-implementation support.
- Ability to operate confidently across business and technology teams, translating complex requirements into practical delivery outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders across 1LOD, 2LOD, Operations and Technology.
- Experience leading delivery in a large, regulated banking or financial services organisation.
- Strong knowledge of Financial Crime processes, controls and monitoring environments.
- A structured and proactive approach to managing risks, issues, dependencies and governance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
