Are you a Civil or Structural Engineer with experience in utilities, power infrastructure or substation design?
Do you want to be part of delivering major HV grid connection projects supporting the UK's renewable energy and infrastructure development?
This company is a specialist engineering and infrastructure delivery organisation operating within the high voltage power and utilities sector. They design and deliver complex electrical infrastructure projects including substations, cable systems and overhead line networks across the UK.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering civil and structural design work across HV/MV/LV infrastructure projects. This will include substation layouts, foundations, cable routes, drainage systems, access roads and structural steel designs.
You will work closely with electrical engineers, project managers and construction teams to ensure all designs are technically robust, compliant and buildable, supporting projects through the full lifecycle from concept through to construction and commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have experience in civil design within the utilities or energy sector, with strong knowledge of substation or infrastructure projects and an understanding of multidisciplinary engineering coordination.

The Role:
- Civil and structural design of HV substation and infrastructure projects
- Design of foundations, cable routes, drainage and access systems
- Production of CAD drawings, calculations and technical documentation
- Coordination with electrical and engineering teams
- Support during construction and commissioning phases
- Review of contractor and vendor submissions
- Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and industry standards
The Person:
- Civil or Structural Engineering degree
- Experience in utilities, substation or power infrastructure design
- Knowledge of civil design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, SAP2000 etc.)
- Strong understanding of geotechnical and structural principles
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
