Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Motor Claims Handler to join our Ipswich team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting our customers through their claims journey, delivering a high level of service while managing your own portfolio of cases.

You’ll be joining a business built on integrity, innovation and collaboration, where we prioritise client success, employee development and delivering exceptional claims solutions. We actively support career progression, including opportunities to gain formal insurance qualifications.

How you'll make an impact

  • Manage a portfolio of motor claims (damage and credit hire) from first notification through to settlement
  • Investigate claims and make decisions on liability and quantum within your authority level
  • Negotiate settlements effectively, ensuring fair and timely outcomes
  • Liaise with a variety of stakeholders including clients, brokers, suppliers, claimants and their representatives
  • Deliver excellent customer service across multiple communication channels, including phone and email
  • Proactively manage claims to reduce lifecycle and achieve the best outcome for all parties
  • Ensure all claims are handled in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements and service level agreements
  • Manage your workload effectively to meet team targets and expectations

About You

  • Base understanding of insurance principles
  • Experience handling motor claims, including accidental damage and third-party damage
  • Knowledge of credit hire claims is desirable but not essential
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to empathise and build rapport
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage your own workload and meet performance targets
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to claims handling
  • Willingness to learn, develop and progress within the role
  • Eligible to work in the UK
