The position of Class 1 Tramper involves:           

• Starting as a cover driver and once experienced, and availability arises a permanent vehicle will be issued.
• Collecting and delivering customers products on a curtain sided trailer, this will include a great deal of load security using ratchet straps.
• Delivering loads throughout the UK both full and groupage loads.
• Using a handheld PDA to complete paperwork.
• Dealing with customers face to face and over the phone.
• Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing
•     our customers’ expectations.
• This will include nights away.
• Attending regular training sessions.

Essential skills required for Class 1 Tramper:

• Must hold a UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence.
• Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Working to deadlines.
• Confident, polite and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.

• £25 per night – tax-free overnight allowance.
