About the Role
As a Class 2 Driver, you will:
- Carry out multi-drop, palletised deliveries as a Class 2 Driver to both business and residential addresses across the South West, ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in line with customer expectations.
- Safely load and unload your vehicle using appropriate equipment (e.g. pallet trucks), ensuring all loads are secured correctly to prevent damage in transit.
- Work closely with network hubs and distribution centres to ensure smooth collections, accurate trunking, and efficient onward deliveries.
- Complete thorough daily vehicle safety checks using your company device, reporting defects promptly to maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and reliability.
- Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing updates on delivery progress, delays, or issues to ensure excellent service levels.
- Deliver a professional and courteous service at all times, acting as a key point of contact for customers and representing the company positively.
- Adhere to all driving legislation, including Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations, as well as company policies and Health & Safety standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up to date with compliance requirements and best driving practices.
- Take responsibility for the cleanliness, security, and general upkeep of your assigned Class 2 vehicle, maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a UK Class 2 C Licence.
- Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
- Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Confident, polite, and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
