Mitchell Adam
We are working with a respected housing provider that is looking to recruit an experienced Client Accountant to join its expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in service charge accounting who enjoys taking ownership of financial processes while supporting colleagues within a collaborative environment.
You will be responsible for the accurate preparation of service charge accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and delivering high-quality financial information to internal and external stakeholders. You will also work closely with operational teams, identify opportunities to improve existing processes, and assist in the ongoing development of the finance function. The role includes providing day-to-day guidance to junior members of the team and helping to maintain high standards across the department.
Skills needed
- Experience within property, client or service charge accounting, with either a professional qualification, part-qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of service charge accounting, including budgeting, month-end reporting, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and financial controls.
- Previous experience within the housing, real estate or property management sector, ideally in a regulated environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience mentoring or supporting less experienced colleagues.
What you will receive
- A secure position within an established organisation committed to employee development and career progression.
- Exposure to a varied property portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, year-end reporting and service charge recoverability.
- The opportunity to supervise and support a small team while working alongside experienced finance professionals.
- A competitive salary and benefits package, including hybrid working, compressed hours and up to a 10% employer pension scheme
This role would suit an experienced Property or Client Accountant looking to build on their leadership experience while continuing to develop their technical expertise in service charge accounting. If you're looking to join an organisation that offers long-term career prospects, a supportive culture and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within the finance team, we'd love to hear from you.
