About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Matron to provide strong clinical leadership and operational management across designated services. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior nurse to drive quality, safety, and patient experience while supporting the delivery of high standards of compassionate care.
As a Clinical Matron, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective service delivery, workforce management, and continuous improvement across clinical areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible, professional leadership to nursing and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
- Lead on clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety initiatives
- Support performance management, workforce planning, and staff development
- Oversee infection prevention and control standards
- Manage operational issues, including patient flow and service efficiency
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning
- Act as a role model for professional practice and organisational values
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Registered Nurse (NMC) qualification
- Significant senior nursing experience, ideally at Band 7 or above
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management
- Experience leading teams through change and service development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to delivering outstanding patient care
Desirable:
- Leadership or management qualification
- Experience in service redesign or transformation
- Evidence of continuous professional development
