About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Matron to provide strong clinical leadership and operational management across designated services. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior nurse to drive quality, safety, and patient experience while supporting the delivery of high standards of compassionate care.

As a Clinical Matron, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective service delivery, workforce management, and continuous improvement across clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible, professional leadership to nursing and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Lead on clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety initiatives
  • Support performance management, workforce planning, and staff development
  • Oversee infection prevention and control standards
  • Manage operational issues, including patient flow and service efficiency
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Act as a role model for professional practice and organisational values

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) qualification
  • Significant senior nursing experience, ideally at Band 7 or above
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management
  • Experience leading teams through change and service development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding patient care

Desirable:

  • Leadership or management qualification
  • Experience in service redesign or transformation
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
