Contract: Fixed Term until July 2027

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our specialist education team, supporting children and young people aged 7–19 with Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated social, emotional, and communication needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people by providing psychological assessment, intervention, consultation, and support within a highly collaborative and child-centred environment.

The Role

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in supporting the emotional wellbeing, behavioural development, and overall progress of our students. Working closely with education, therapy, and care colleagues, you will contribute to the development and delivery of effective, evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs.

You will provide psychological assessments, formulate recommendations, and support the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support approaches across the provision. The role also involves delivering training, consultation, and guidance to staff and families, helping to build understanding and promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

In addition, you will have opportunities to contribute to service development, lead group interventions, provide individual support, and supervise Assistant Psychologists where appropriate.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate professional who is committed to delivering high-quality psychological support and achieving positive outcomes for young people.

Essential Requirements

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.

  • Postgraduate qualification in Psychology.

  • Experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and complex needs.

  • Experience within educational, clinical, healthcare, or care settings.

  • Strong skills in multidisciplinary working and collaborative practice.

  • Experience supervising or supporting Assistant Psychologists.

  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
