We are currently recruiting for an experienced 3/5 Axis CNC Milling Machinist to join a busy and well-established precision engineering company. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional with programming, setting, and operating experience to work with high-specification machinery in a modern manufacturing environment.
Day Shift
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm
Night Shift
- Monday to Thursday: 4:45pm – 3:15am
- Friday: Off
Both shifts offer an excellent work-life balance, with either an early finish on Fridays or a permanent three-day weekend on nights.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce CNC programs using CAD/CAM software for 3 and 5 Axis milling machines.
- Set, adjust, and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls.
- Manufacture high-precision components to exact engineering specifications.
- Conduct in-process inspections and final quality checks in line with internal quality standards.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Carry out daily machine checks and routine maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Work flexibly to support production demands and business requirements.
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to your skills and experience.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar CNC milling role.
- Strong background in precision engineering.
- Familiarity with Fanuc control systems.
- Engineering qualification with a CNC machining specialism.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable Experience
- Minimum of three years' experience programming, setting, and operating 3/5 Axis CNC milling machines.
- CAD/CAM programming knowledge.
- Experience using MRP systems.
- Automation experience.
- Strong problem-solving and inspection skills.
