Our client, a leading aerospace precision manufacturer, is looking to recruit a skilled CNC Machinist to join their Derby-based team. This role involves setting and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture high-precision components to exacting quality standards within a regulated aerospace environment.
The ideal candidate will be a time-served CNC Setter/Operator with experience in precision machining, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Experience within aerospace manufacturing and familiarity with ISO-accredited environments would be highly advantageous.

CNC Machinist
Job Description • Set and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components. • Produce accurate, high-quality components while maximising efficiency and productivity. • Interpret engineering drawings and manufacture components to tight tolerances. • Inspect and quality check finished components using a variety of measuring equipment. • Set up and maintain CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, and associated equipment. • Work independently and as part of a team to meet production targets. • Ensure all work is completed in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards. • Maintain excellent housekeeping and safe working practices within the machining area. • Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to quality, safety, environmental performance, sustainability, and energy efficiency.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications • Fully skilled, time-served CNC Setter/Operator (certificates required). • Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines, including 3-axis and 5-axis machining. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Experience working to tight tolerances and producing high-precision components. • Competent in the use of a wide range of measuring and inspection equipment. • Previous experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment. • Computer literate with strong practical engineering skills. • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment. • Good hand-eye coordination and normal colour vision.
