Job title: Commercial Claims Manager
Salary: £50,000 per annum + Benefits
Location: Birmingham
OVERVIEW
We are currently working with a leading global broker who due to expansion are recruiting for a Commercial Claims Manager to join their expanding team in Birningham.
You will be responsible for leading a team of claims handlers, providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and clear development pathways to build technical expertise and support career progression.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Claims team, ensuring the effective management of commercial claims and the delivery of a high-quality, customer-centric service.
- Support the development and execution of operational strategies, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and the consistent delivery of service excellence.
- Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development, setting clear expectations and leading by example.
- Analyse performance data, management information (MI), and operational trends to identify opportunities for improvement, partnering with the Claims Operations and Business Performance Manager to implement lasting efficiencies and enhancements.
- Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders, including HR, Learning & Development, Broking, and Client Servicing teams, to strengthen team capability, engagement, and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, supporting effective claims management, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
- Handle and resolve client complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and service standards.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership or managerial role within the commercial claims insurance market, with a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Cert CII desired not essential (or working towards).
SKILLS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
