We are supporting a leading international FMCG business in the search for an Interim Commercial Finance Manager to join its UK & Ireland operation. Located in Manchester this is a hybrid role.
This is a highly commercial role, acting as the deputy to the Commercial Finance Director and partnering closely with Sales and Commercial teams to drive profitable growth across key retail customers.
This is not a traditional FP&A position. The successful candidate will be an experienced commercial finance professional with a strong track record of business partnering within FMCG environments, providing financial insight, challenge and support to retailer-facing commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic finance business partner to Sales and Commercial leadership teams.
- Support the Commercial Finance Director in delivering the commercial finance agenda across the UK&I business.
- Provide financial leadership and challenge around pricing, promotions, customer negotiations and commercial investment decisions.
- Analyse customer and channel profitability, identifying opportunities to improve performance and drive margin growth.
- Support commercial decision-making through robust financial modelling, scenario analysis and business case development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Sales, Category, Supply Chain and Marketing.
- Deliver meaningful insight to senior stakeholders, influencing both short-term and long-term business decisions.
- Evaluate commercial opportunities and risks, ensuring investment decisions deliver appropriate returns.
- Contribute to forecasting and planning activities from a commercial perspective.
- Deputise for the Commercial Finance Director as required.
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Previous experience within a commercial finance role in an FMCG or consumer products business.
- Strong business partnering experience with Sales and Commercial teams.
- Experience supporting retailer-facing commercial functions and managing customer profitability.
- Strong understanding of pricing, promotions, trade investment and commercial decision-making.
- Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, financial modelling and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, complex commercial environment.
