Commercial Finance Manager
Based: Preston
Salary: up to £70k + bonus + benefits
Whitaker Smith are working with a fast-growing, PE backed, leading business based in Preston looking to recruit a Commercial Finance Manager to join the team in a newly created role. This is a high-profile role reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller, responsible for providing financial insight, business partnering & commercial analysis to drive revenue growth and margin improvement. This is a high-exposure role offering an opportunity to make a real impact acting as a key partner to a range of senior stakeholders
We are looking for someone to be accountable for commercial finance & revenue activities across the business ensuring accurate monthly revenue accounting, delivering insightful forecasting & analysis and lots more.
Role:
- Responsible for building relationships and managing external stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, revenue recognition processes and commercial data
- Lead customer profitability, contract reviews, and pricing/margin analysis.
- Provide monthly revenue analysis and variance explanations against budget and forecast.
- Support management reporting, looking to enhance and deliver results
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting alongside FP&A
- Collaborate on KPI dashboards across finance & business
- Work with FP&A team driving commercial insights into forecasts and budgets.
- Partner with various departments analysing pricing decisions and commercial negotiations around new contracts
- Produce regular commercial insight on revenue, margin, & customer behaviours
- Work with wider teams to understand the performance, forecasts and areas of improvement.
Experience:
- ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified
- Experience in commercial finance and revenue management essential
- Proven experience supporting senior stakeholders & building relationships
- Strong commercial acumen & ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Understanding of pricing, revenue recognition and contracts highly beneficial
- Strong attention to detail & comfortable working in a fast paced, change oriented environment
