Our client is seeking a dedicated Compliance and Sustainability Officer to drive their dual commitment to Health and Safety and Compliance in one of their leading divisions.
Ultimately you will be responsible for bridging the gap between high-level governance (Sustainability and GDPR) and day-to-day operational safety.

Job Title: Compliance and Sustainability Officer
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000
Location: Office based – Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure continuous adherence to UK Health & Safety and Environment legislation. Manage Sustainability Compliance and environmental impact reporting.
- Conduct regular internal audits to verify departmental compliance. Lead the preparation for critical internal and external audits.
- Manage the end-to-end Risk Assessment process and the maintenance of Health & Safety Plans and Method Statements. Lead post-incident investigations to identify root causes and preventative actions.
- Ensure organizational GDPR compliance and overall corporate governance.
- Oversee PPE management, asset control, and the management of Purchase Orders. Control Access and Work Permits for sites.
- Create detailed analytical reports for senior leadership. Provide direct administrative support to the Head of Department.
Skills & Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate is typically required for this level of safety responsibility in England.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) standards.
- Understanding of Sustainability, including Scope 1, 2 and 3.
- High attention to detail for audit trail management and the ability to influence safety culture across diverse teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel) for data analysis and reporting.
