Job Opportunity: Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor/Associate (4+ PQE)
Location: Glasgow
Overview:
A leading commercial practice is seeking a Solicitor or Associate with 4+ years' experience in non-contentious construction to join its expanding team. The role involves advising on major development projects, regeneration schemes and engineering matters – particularly in the energy sector. You'll work with developers, contractors, funders, consultants and public-sector bodies on high-value, UK-wide projects.
Role Requirements:
- Advising on construction aspects of property developments, including building contracts, appointments, collateral warranties, bonds and guarantees
- Supporting significant engineering and energy projects across onshore wind, hydro, battery storage, solar and other technologies
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of construction documents
- Providing clear technical guidance to colleagues and clients
- Managing project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements
- Attending meetings, progressing matters efficiently and maintaining up-to-date knowledge
- Contributing to business development, client relationships and market awareness
- Supervising junior team members and supporting knowledge sharing
Experience:
- 4+ years' PQE in non-contentious construction work
- Experience advising developers, funders, contractors or consultants
- Confident handling complex documentation with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated involvement in major development or energy-related projects
Skills:
- Clear communicator with excellent drafting skills
- Organised, commercially aware and capable of managing deadlines
- Collaborative team member with leadership potential
- Analytical, proactive and able to provide practical solutions
