Locum Contracts Lawyer (Interim) – Local Authority | Hybrid (Berkshire)
We are currently partnering with a Local Authority to appoint an experienced Locum Contracts Lawyer to join their well-regarded Corporate & Commercial Legal Team on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a broad, high-impact role, supporting key stakeholders across the organisation and contributing to important commercial and governance initiatives.
The Role
You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, pragmatic legal advice across a wide range of commercial matters. Key responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts and agreements
- Advising on procurement-related matters, partnership arrangements and service level agreements
- Supporting internal stakeholders with risk management, governance and compliance
- Ensuring the Council’s legal position is robustly protected across all commercial activity
- Managing a varied caseload independently, with minimal supervision
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience working within a Local Authority legal environment
- Strong knowledge of local government law, public procurement principles and commercial contracts
- Confidence managing complex and varied workloads autonomously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to provide clear, solution-focused advice in a fast-paced setting
