Conveyancing Lawyer — Position Overview:
This role offers genuine responsibility for a varied residential property caseload, alongside strong client and business development exposure. The successful candidate will work closely with local agents and professionals, with the support of both an in-office team and remote colleagues, and genuine opportunities for advancement as the office expands.
Key Responsibilities of the Conveyancing Lawyer:
- Managing a residential property caseload to a high standard on a day-to-day basis
- Advising clients on residential property matters and providing clear, practical guidance
- Building and developing new workload at the Chelmsford office in collaboration with local agents and professionals
- Maintaining high standards in legal reporting and documentation
- Supporting compliance with SRA and CQS regulatory requirements, including internal audits
- Supervising and mentoring junior colleagues within the team
- Working collaboratively with remote solicitors where appropriate
- Ensuring confidentiality and data security across all client interactions
Requirements of the Conveyancing Lawyer:
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with at least 5 years' PQE in residential property
- Proven experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Sound understanding of SRA and CQS compliance and regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge of data security and confidentiality requirements
- Commitment to legal technology adoption and ongoing professional development
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with agents and other professionals
- Experience supervising or supporting junior colleagues
