Conveyancing Legal Secretary/Conveyancing Administrative Assistant – Property Finance, based in Elstree, Herts
We are recruiting for a specialist, partner-led practice recognised for its technical expertise in property finance, lender recovery and contentious litigation. They act for institutional and challenger lenders on high value, complex recovery matters and pride themselves on precision, responsiveness and commercial insight.
They are seeking a Legal Secretary/Legal Administrative Assistant to support a Senior Paralegal.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responding to internal legal queries and enquiries referred by other team members.
• Calculating redemption statements and assisting with the provision of undertakings.
• Preparing DS1 forms, deeds of release and other Land Registry discharge documentation.
• Assisting with invoice preparation and arranging payments to lender clients and third parties.
• Supporting fixed charge receiver appointments and associated correspondence.
• Assisting with consents to lease, title splits, section 106 agreements and letters of non-crystallisation.
• Conducting basic AML and compliance checks in accordance with firm procedures.
• Assisting with the distribution of surplus sale proceeds following completion or enforcement.
• Maintaining accurate file records and supporting effective day to day task management across matters.
Skills required:
• Previous experience in a Legal Secretarial/Legal Assistant role, with PROPERTY LITIGATION/CONVEYANCING experience.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, lender focused environment.
• A proactive approach and willingness to develop technical knowledge.
This is a role that needs someone to start as soon as possible.
Working hours are 9-5.30pm Monday to Friday. 20 days holiday exclusive of all Bank Holidays and a Christmas shut down from Christmas Eve to the 2nd January…and a day off on your birthday each year! Lovely location, parking available.
