Corporate Tax Manager Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working) Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + Bonus + Benefits The Opportunity A leading UK accountancy and business advisory firm is seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join its growing Birmingham tax team. This role offers exposure to a broad portfolio of entrepreneurial businesses, large corporate groups, international clients and high-growth organisations across a range of sectors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering both corporate tax compliance and advisory services while supporting senior leadership on complex client matters and business development initiatives. Key Responsibilities * Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients, ensuring high-quality compliance and advisory services are delivered on time and within budget. * Act as the primary point of contact for clients, developing strong relationships and providing proactive tax advice. * Review corporation tax computations, returns and supporting tax analyses prepared by junior team members. * Lead and deliver a range of advisory projects, including restructuring, group reorganisations, international tax matters, transaction support and tax planning assignments. * Monitor workflow, budgets, recoverability and WIP management across the client portfolio. * Identify tax risks, technical issues and planning opportunities, escalating matters where appropriate. * Support Partners and Directors with client proposals, business development activity and cross-selling opportunities. * Liaise with specialists across VAT, employment tax, international tax, transfer pricing and other service lines to provide integrated solutions. * Mentor, coach and develop junior team members, providing technical guidance and performance feedback. * Contribute to team initiatives, process improvements and the continued development of the tax practice.
Candidate Profile * CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification. * Strong UK corporate tax technical knowledge gained within practice. * Experience managing a client portfolio and overseeing compliance processes. * Demonstrable advisory experience, ideally including corporate restructuring, group tax matters or transaction-related work. * Strong project management and organisational skills. * Experience reviewing the work of junior staff and supporting their development. * Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities to add value for clients. * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
