Corporate Tax Manager – London
£65,000-£75,000 + bonus + benefits
Full-time, permanent
I'm working with a leading challenger accountancy firm that is looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Manager into its growing London tax team.
This is a strong opportunity for either an experienced Corporate Tax Manager, or an ambitious Assistant Manager ready to step up into a Manager role as a promotion.
The firm has a genuinely impressive tax offering, with a broad corporate client base and regular involvement in advisory work across areas such as restructuring, acquisitions, disposals, international expansion, share schemes and tax efficiency reviews. It is a good fit for someone who wants more variety, stronger progression and the chance to build broader advisory exposure alongside high-quality compliance work.
The Role
You will support Senior Managers, Directors and Partners in delivering corporate tax compliance and advisory services to a varied portfolio of clients.
The role will involve managing a condensed client portfolio, reviewing corporate tax work, supporting advisory projects and helping supervise junior members of the team.
Responsibilities will include:
-
Managing deadlines across your client allocation
-
Liaising with audit and accounting teams on work delivery timetables
-
Reviewing tax provisions, tax accounting schedules and final tax computations
-
Reviewing corporation tax returns and identifying when technical input or escalation is needed
-
Supporting advisory projects across corporate and business tax matters
-
Building strong client relationships and delivering excellent client service
-
Managing WIP and billing across your portfolio
-
Supporting, guiding and reviewing work from junior team members
-
Assisting with internal projects and team operations
-
Supporting tenders, proposals, tax due diligence, technical queries and internal training where required
What They're Looking For
The firm is keen to speak with corporate tax professionals who are ambitious, technically strong and ready to progress.
You will ideally have:
-
Corporate tax experience gained within practice
-
ACA, CA, CTA or equivalent qualification
-
Strong technical knowledge of corporation tax
-
Experience reviewing corporation tax returns and computations
-
The ability to manage a small portfolio profitably
-
Confidence supporting tax advisory work
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Good commercial awareness and the ability to explain technical matters clearly
-
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise during busy periods
Why Apply?
This is a growing team with clear progression potential and a meritocratic approach to career development. For an Assistant Manager, this could be a genuine step up into a Manager position. For an existing Manager, it offers a broader platform, strong client variety and access to more advisory-led work.
The firm provides the benefits of a highly respected UK challenger firm, combined with access to an international network and a client base that includes complex, fast-moving and technically interesting businesses.
This would suit someone who wants to develop beyond routine compliance, work closely with senior people and progress within a growing corporate tax team.
