Reed Finance are supporting a repeat client on an exclusive basis who are looking for a new Cost Accountant on a perm basis to join their busy but friendly Finance function.
This organisation operates within the UK agriculture and food production sector, specialising in integrated supply chain activities including animal feed manufacturing, farming operations, and early-stage livestock production. The business plays a key role in supporting the national food supply chain and has experienced significant growth in recent years, driving increased output, operational complexity, and investment across its sites.
We are seeking a commercially focused Cost Accountant to support financial control and performance across manufacturing and operational activities. This role will be responsible for analysing production costs, monitoring margins, and providing insight to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
- Prepare and analyse standard and actual product costs across manufacturing and operational processes
- Monitor raw material, labour, and overhead cost variances and produce regular reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis across multiple business areas
- Partner with operational teams to improve cost control and efficiency
- Maintain and enhance costing systems, inventory valuation, and bills of materials
- Assist with month-end reporting, including stock reconciliations and journal postings
- Provide financial insight and decision support to senior stakeholders
Key Requirements:
- Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or strong QBE with relevant experience
- Proven background in cost accounting within a manufacturing or operational environment
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or supply chain-based industries advantageous
- Confident communicator with the ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders
