Cover supervisor SEN

Prospero Teaching

We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a specialist educational provision in Swindon. The school provides a nurturing, holistic learning environment for young people with a range of behavioural, emotional, and mental health needs, supporting them to re-engage with education and develop both academically and personally.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre-prepared work, and ensuring a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment is maintained. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, engagement, and consistency across the school day.

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is resilient, patient, and passionate about making a difference to young people who require additional support to thrive in education. You will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to ensure pupils receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise lessons across a range of subjects in the teacher's absence
  • Deliver pre-set work and ensure students remain on task
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Support students with their learning and emotional regulation where needed
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and pastoral staff
  • Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and specialist setting where your impact on students' progress and wellbeing will be highly valued.
