Credit Controller Lead | Shaftesbury Area | £35,000 + Bonus | Full-Time, Office-Based
Talent Finance is partnering with a well-established and growing organisation in the North Dorset area to recruit a Senior Credit Controller. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business that values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Working as part of a supportive finance team, you'll be responsible for managing customer accounts, driving cash collection activity, and maintaining strong customer relationships, while contributing to wider finance and process improvement initiatives.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role offering plenty of autonomy and responsibility. You'll manage your own portfolio of accounts, work closely with internal stakeholders, and play an important role in supporting cash flow and reducing aged debt.
Key Responsibilities
• Managing a portfolio of customer accounts from invoicing through to collection
• Proactively driving cash collection and reducing outstanding debt
• Building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders
• Investigating and resolving invoice queries and disputes efficiently
• Monitoring customer accounts and reviewing credit risk exposure
• Producing aged debt analysis and supporting cash flow reporting
• Working collaboratively with teams across Finance, Sales and Operations
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls
• Supporting month-end activities, reconciliations and reporting requirements
• Assisting with finance projects and ad hoc tasks as required
About You
We're looking for an experienced Credit Control professional who enjoys taking ownership and delivering results.
You'll ideally have:
• Previous Credit Control experience within a busy commercial environment
• Experience managing your own ledger and customer accounts independently
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to build effective relationships internally and externally
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confidence using finance systems and Excel
• Good commercial awareness and prioritisation skills
Exposure to multi-currency accounts, international customers, or complex invoicing environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
