Credit Control Manager (3-Month FTC)
Leeds | Up to £45,000 | Fixed-Term Contract
We're recruiting for an experienced Credit Control Manager to join a well-established business based in Leeds on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven credit professional to lead an established team, oversee a significant debt ledger, and implement improvements that enhance the credit control function.
The Role
As Credit Control Manager, you'll take ownership of the company's consolidated debt ledger, leading the credit control strategy while managing a team across both the UK and US. You'll play a key role in improving processes, driving collections, and providing regular updates to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 7 Credit Controllers
- Set monthly collection targets and support the team to achieve them
- Manage a high value debt ledger
- Drive continuous improvement across credit control processes and systems
- Complete credit checks for new customers and create ERP accounts
- Proactively collect outstanding debt via telephone and email
- Issue customer statements and resolve complex account queries
- Maintain accurate records within the credit control system
- Post and allocate daily cash receipts accurately
- Carry out account reconciliations
- Produce weekly and monthly debt updates for the CFO
About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
- 7-8 years' credit control experience, including managing major customer accounts
- Previous team management experience (desirable but not essential)
- A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of the credit control function
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong analytical ability and exceptional attention to detail
- The ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
