Job Role -Credit Controller

Fresh People are working with a well-established and growing professional services firm based in Canterbury, who are looking to appoint an experienced Credit Controller to join their busy finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable, supportive environment where you will play a key role in maintaining cash flow, managing client relationships and supporting the wider finance function.
The Role
Working within the treasury team, you will support Partners and the wider business with a range of credit control and accounts administration responsibilities.
Key duties include:
- Preparing monthly sales ledger statements
- Managing and chasing overdue debt, resolving queries and ensuring timely payment
- Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues
- Processing payments including card transactions and cheque banking
- Posting transactions using accounting systems such as Xero and QuickBooks
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting general accounts administration
- Supporting with ad hoc finance tasks as required
About You
We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused individual who can manage workload effectively and communicate confidently at all levels.
You will have:
- Previous experience in a Credit Control or similar finance role (minimum 12 months preferred)
- AAT Level 2 (or working towards) desirable
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting software (preferred)

Additional Information
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (9:00am – 5:30pm)
