A successful and expanding organisation is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Credit Controller to join its growing finance team. This is a varied and fast-paced position, combining Credit Control, Sales Ledger, Billing and Customer Service responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a diverse role, building strong customer relationships and working within a busy finance environment. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with Local Authorities and a wide range of customers, ensuring accounts are managed efficiently while delivering an excellent level of service. Working as part of a friendly finance team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day credit control function while supporting the wider sales ledger and billing processes. You will proactively chase outstanding payments, manage customer accounts, allocate cash, reconcile ledgers and resolve account queries in a professional and timely manner. You will also prepare and issue invoices, support the billing process, investigate discrepancies, process account adjustments where required and liaise regularly with Local Authorities, customers and internal departments to ensure accounts are accurate, payments are received promptly and queries are resolved efficiently.
Ideally you will have:
- Previous experience in Credit Control, Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or a similar finance role.
- Experience managing customer accounts, chasing outstanding debt, raising invoices and allocating cash.
- Experience liaising with Local Authorities would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the confidence to build relationships and resolve account queries professionally.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload.
