Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant (FTC – Maternity Cover)
SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant to join our team at EBC Brakes in this Maternity Cover role.
The Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant will be responsible for credit control for one trading company, including export accounts, and various accounting duties.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage customer credit accounts and monitor payment schedules, securing timely payment of debtors;
- Ensure new customer account opening procedures are adhered to;
- Conduct credit checks on new customers and assess creditworthiness;
- Prepare and send monthly customer statements and follow up, answer customer queries;
- Follow up on overdue invoices and resolve any payment discrepancies promptly and independently;
- Collaborate with sales teams to address customer queries regarding payments;
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to credit control;
- As required posting of purchase ledger invoices.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller or similar role in finance or accounting;
- Display and demonstrate a sound understanding of chasing debt and managing money in;
- Knowledge of Sage preferred but not essential, as training can be given;
- Ability to work to deadlines;
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail;
- Effective communication skills for liaising with customers and internal teams;
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- 22-24 hours per week, preferably Monday to Thursday between 9.00-9.30 start and finish and Friday start and finishing on Friday at 13:00;
- Hourly rate – £13.50 per hour;
- Start date ASAP.
