Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Data centre Engineer with a strongmechanical and technical background to support the customisation &Deployment of server/enterprise equipment within high-performance and datacentre environments. The ideal candidate willhave hands-on experience in Data centres.
- Location: Hatfield Business Park Hatfield Avenue – Hatfield
- Daily Rate: A per hour rate, in-scope IR35, of £14.90/hr PAYE) OR £19.33/hr (via a Hays approved umbrella company)
- Contract Duration: 3-month contract
- Work Type: On-site
- Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
- Rack n stack of active network hardware, switches, routers & servers
- Understand and follow the patching schedule/cut sheet.
- Installing power and data connection cables within server & networking racks.
- Follow instructions and providing on-site support for remote networks and systems. administrators.
- Read & follow Rack Elevation Diagrams
- Apply basic IP Addressing under instructions/directions.
- Installing and configuring UPS systems (Desirable)
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful and timely deployments.
- Follow all safety procedures, industry standards, and environmental guidelines during field operations.
Qualifications
- Must be very familiar with working in a Data Centre
- Good understanding of various Structured Cabling Solutions
- Capable of installing & Testing Fibre Optic cables
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and high attention to detail.
- Comfortable performing hands-on technical work.
