Job Title: Cleaner – Care Home (Weekend Role)
Location: Chorley
Hours: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (16 hours per week)
Contract Type: Temp
Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and caring Cleaner to support the upkeep of a home. The role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children with additional needs, ensuring high standards of hygiene at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain all areas of the home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, and communal spaces
- Carry out routine and deep cleaning tasks in accordance with cleaning schedules
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitised to meet health, safety, and infection control standards
- Safely use and store cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH guidelines
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Replenish cleaning supplies and report stock shortages
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to management
- Work respectfully around children, staff, and visitors, maintaining a calm and professional presence
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control procedures at all times
Person Specification
- Previous cleaning preferred, ideally in a care or residential setting
- Basic knowledge of hygiene standards and safe use of cleaning products
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Good attention to detail
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding in a care setting
- Friendly and approachable with a positive attitude
Additional Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures
- Flexibility to support additional cleaning needs where required
