Deputy Manager

Thendon Resourcing LTD

Deputy Manager – Residential Care

Oxford | £46,000 to £54,000 + Excellent Benefits

Some care homes talk about person-centred care. This one genuinely lives it.

This Deputy Manager role is an opportunity to join a beautiful, purpose-built residential home that feels warm, welcoming and full of life from the moment you walk through the door. Bright, modern and thoughtfully designed, it offers residents an exceptional place to live and staff an environment they can be proud to work in.

It’s a long-established independent charity rather than a large corporate group. That means decisions are made for the right reasons, quality always comes before profit and there is a genuine commitment to creating a home where residents can thrive and employees feel valued.

People stay with them because they’re looked after. They offer competitive salaries, invest heavily in learning and development and have built an outstanding reputation for supporting our staff to develop their skills and progress their careers. You'll be joining a stable, supportive senior leadership team that believes great care starts with great people.

As a Deputy Manager, you'll work closely with the Registered Manager to help lead the home, support the wider team and drive their continued journey towards an Outstanding CQC rating. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader who enjoys combining hands-on operational management with quality improvement and staff development.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day leadership of the home and deputising in their absence.
  • Promoting exceptional, person-centred care and ensuring residents enjoy fulfilling, independent lives.
  • Leading quality improvement initiatives and supporting the home's ambition to achieve and maintain Outstanding standards.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing colleagues to help them reach their full potential.
  • Assist the Registered Manager in monitoring audits, investigations, resident feedback and action plans to drive continuous improvement.
  • Supporting admissions, care planning and operational processes to ensure the smooth running of the service.
  • Working collaboratively with residents, families, healthcare professionals and the wider senior leadership team to achieve the best possible outcomes.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in a senior leadership role within a residential care home, such as Deputy Manager or Clinical Lead.
  • A strong background in elderly care and a passion for delivering outstanding services.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support and develop high-performing teams.
  • QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Social Care, or working towards it.
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills, with an understanding of quality assurance, compliance and care management systems.

In return, you'll benefit from:

  • Salary of £46,000 to £54,000.
  • The opportunity to join a highly respected independent charity with an excellent reputation.
  • A stunning modern working environment with first-class facilities.
  • Significant investment in your professional development and ongoing training.
  • A supportive culture where staff wellbeing and career progression are genuinely prioritised.
  • Pension scheme, free meals on shift, free parking (subject to availability), employee assistance programme and additional staff benefits.
