The Role
As a Deputy SENDCo / Behaviour Support Officer, you will be a vital pillar in the school's inclusion and student support teams. Working hand-in-hand with the SENDCo and the wider pastoral network, you will design and implement effective behaviour support strategies, mentor vulnerable students, and ensure that children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) have the tools they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:

Partner with the SENDCo to oversee and coordinate day-to-day SEND and pastoral provisions.

Deliver targeted behaviour interventions, helping students overcome barriers to learning and re-engage in the classroom.

Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists to create tailored support plans.

Act as a positive role model and advocate, championing an inclusive and supportive school culture.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Proven experience within a pastoral, behaviour support, or SEND role in a UK secondary school setting.

A deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and positive behaviour management techniques.

Exceptional communication skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations with empathy and resilience.

A strong desire to collaborate with a highly driven, professional team.
