This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in supporting high-volume derivatives trade flows across multiple asset classes, ensuring operational stability and robust control discipline.
You will be part of a collaborative Middle Office function that works closely with Front Office trading desks, Treasury, Finance & Control, and COO teams, integrating across EMEA and global operations. The organisation is renowned for its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, offering hybrid and flexible working arrangements, comprehensive wellbeing benefits, and extensive learning and development opportunities. If you are passionate about delivering excellence in trade management while enjoying the support of a dynamic and welcoming team, this role offers the perfect platform to further your career.
What you'll do:
- Execute daily business-as-usual (BAU) derivative trade management activities with meticulous attention to completeness, accuracy, and adherence to defined service level agreements.
- Ensure all processes are performed in strict alignment with established policies, control frameworks, and regulatory requirements, escalating exceptions when risk thresholds are approached or breached.
- Perform detailed control checks on trade booking and lifecycle events to validate alignment with approved terms while maintaining comprehensive audit trails for transparency.
- Manage non-economic trade updates such as CUSIP/ISIN changes to guarantee data integrity and accurate downstream reporting, including support for transaction reporting requirements.
- Oversee overnight Middle Office/Back Office processes by validating outputs, investigating breaks, and ensuring timely resolution or escalation of issues as needed.
- Deliver recurring BAU reporting covering trade volumes, Best Execution metrics, third-party risk management (TPRM), and fee calculations (IMA, SMVA, FFT), ensuring consistency and precision.
- Produce ad hoc management information (MI) and analysis to support operational oversight and informed decision-making within Front Office and control functions.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities by executing trade booking and lifecycle scenarios to ensure system enhancements accurately reflect BAU processes.
- Maintain, review, and enhance desk top procedures so they remain current, comprehensive, and fully aligned with actual practices as well as control requirements.
- Drive process consistency across the team by standardising controls and documentation while identifying inefficiencies or gaps within BAU activities to implement improvements.
What you bring:
- Demonstrated understanding of the full derivative trade lifecycle along with hands-on experience in Middle Office business-as-usual (BAU) processes within a controlled environment.
- Proven track record operating under strict adherence to policies, procedures, regulatory requirements (including PRA/FCA oversight), internal audit standards, and risk governance frameworks.
- Ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive BAU activities with unwavering accuracy while maintaining discipline under pressure.
- Experience conducting detailed trade validation checks as well as preparing operational reports that inform both internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with a strong sense of ownership over data quality and process integrity throughout all stages of the trade lifecycle.
- Capability to maintain clear documentation of procedures while regularly reviewing them for currency and comprehensiveness against evolving best practices.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills enabling effective collaboration across Front Office teams as well as various control functions within the organisation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including VBA development and strong capability in generating meaningful management information (MI) reports for decision-making purposes.
- Commitment to customer focus by consistently delivering high-quality service outcomes that align with enterprise values around trustworthiness and long-term partnership.
- Embraces diversity by contributing positively to an inclusive team culture where different perspectives are welcomed; demonstrates sound judgement in risk management situations.
