JOB SPECIFICATION DESIGN ASSISTANT
SALARY – £28-30k per annum
LOCATION – SW14
HOURS – Flexible working hours between 7.30am and 9.30am and 4.00pm and 6.00pm
HYBRID – 3 days in office, 2 from home with 4pm finish on a Friday
Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a young and dynamic company who design and manufacture accessories for both UK high street and international retailers, this company offers its employees fantastic progression opportunities.
They are looking for a proactive individual, with great organisation skills, to provide essential support to our Design Team and be responsible for the day to day running of the sample rooms.
Job Description
The role will involve:
- Providing support to the Design Team on a variety of day-to-day tasks, including CADs during peak season.
- Assisting the Design Team with generating trend presentations for internal use as well as customers.
- Helping with research into new trends.
- Main responsibility will be the organisation of our sample rooms.
- Restocking the sample rooms after customer meetings.
- Liaising with our FE suppliers; sending labels, chasing samples and logging samples in.
- Labelling, photographing and organising new samples.
- Management of acetate swatches, lens swatches and other sample materials. Making sure files are kept up to date.
Skills
- Genuine passion for accessories and fashion design
- Style and trend forecasting and research
- Experience in the accessories market is a distinct advantage
- Meticulous with a keen eye for detail
- Trend aware with product development experience
- Team player, enthusiastic and someone that will be happy mucking in
- Good communicator, great interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to effectively self-manage and prioritize workload
- Positive attitude
- Exceptional organisational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritise and think ahead
- Ability to work under pressure caused by seasonal concentration of activity
- Proactive and problem solving
- Basic CAD skills using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop are essential.
