Design Engineer – Aviation Structures (Rotary Aircraft) | 6-Month Contract | Yeovil Area
Location: Yeovil, UK Contract Duration: 6 months (potential for extension) Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with a strong background in aviation structures and rotary aircraft design to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile aerospace projects in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop structural components and assemblies for rotary-wing aircraft.
Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD.
Conduct design reviews, stress considerations, and modification assessments.
Liaise with cross-functional engineering and production teams to ensure design integrity and compliance.
Support documentation and certification requirements for aerospace standards.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in rotary aircraft or aerospace structural design.
Proficiency in Solidworks
Strong understanding of aerospace materials, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to work independently and deliver to tight project timelines.
Must be based in or able to commute to the Yeovil area.
Desirable:
Familiarity with civil or military rotorcraft platforms.
Experience with stress analysis or design certification support.
Contract Details:
6-month initial contract
Competitive hourly/daily rate (DOE)
