Design Flow Engineer – Power Integrity & Reliability Analysis
Contract Duration: 3 12 month contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Interview Process: Two stages (1st online, 2nd onsite where possible)
We are seeking a Design Flow Engineer – Power Integrity & Reliability Analysis to join a leading semiconductor R&D environment in Eindhoven. This position sits within the RF-EM Design Enablement team, responsible for developing and integrating simulation flows, methodologies, and design enablement solutions that support analog and RF product development across advanced semiconductor technologies.
The successful candidate will focus on electromigration, power integrity, electrothermal analysis, reliability verification, and AI/ML-enabled design methodologies, helping ensure robust, high-performance, first-time-right silicon solutions.
This opportunity is open to experienced professionals (ideally 5+ years' experience), although strong junior candidates and recent graduates with relevant academic backgrounds will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Reliability & Power Integrity Analysis
- Perform electromigration (EM) analysis on IC and power-device layouts.
- Evaluate current density limits and identify potential reliability risks within metal interconnects.
- Analyse stress-induced voiding and metal migration effects under operational conditions.
- Conduct power integrity, current distribution, and voltage drop analysis.
- Assess electrothermal behaviour and long-term reliability of semiconductor devices and interconnects.
- Perform parasitic-aware verification and physical design validation.
Design Flow & Methodology Development
- Develop and improve flows for:
- Electromigration analysis
- Current density verification
- Power integrity assessment
- Reliability analysis
- Define and validate design rules related to reliability and manufacturability.
- Develop methodologies to improve design robustness and silicon quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design, layout, process technology, and verification teams.
- Identify design weaknesses and propose corrective actions.
- Support failure analysis and reliability qualification activities.
- Produce technical reports documenting findings, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Advanced Research & AI Applications
- Develop AI/ML-driven methodologies for analysis and verification of RF and analog designs.
- Support the adoption of advanced design enablement technologies across engineering teams.
- Contribute to next-generation RF solutions including:
- Radar systems
- 5G/6G technologies
- Wireless communication products
Additional Responsibilities
- Support electromagnetic (EM) radiated emission simulation methodologies.
- Provide guidance to engineering teams using EM simulation tools.
- Stay up to date with industry developments in RF, analog, reliability, and simulation technologies.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Electronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Applied Physics
- Semiconductor Engineering
- Related technical discipline
- Knowledge of:
- Electromigration analysis
- Power integrity verification
- Current density analysis
- Reliability verification techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English.

- Experience using commercial tools for:
