About Harris Vehicle Hire:
Established in 2021, Harris Vehicle Hire is the newest addition in a long line of family-owned businesses dating back to the early 1960’s. Based in West Lothian, Harris Vehicle Hire provides vehicle hire services to both public and private sectors and specialises in van rental. With 25 years’ experience in the industry, the business has all the necessary tools to meet any demand across a wide variety of fleet requirements.
What will I be doing?
- Provide 1st line support by responding to enquiries and managing rental bookings, ensuring effective use of internal Excel-based systems and maintaining a positive user experience
- Working to support financial application processes and become a super user of Xero and Stripe to assist with invoicing, payments, and accurate record keeping as part of month-end activities
- Perform system administration and data management tasks including maintaining booking sheets, fleet utilisation trackers, estimates, and breakdown logs using Microsoft Excel and wider MS365 tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and process issues, including handling parking charge notices and identifying inconsistencies in booking or operational data
- Generate and analyse operational reports to support business decision-making, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of key metrics
- Contribute to continuous improvement of digital systems and workflows, including supporting routine supply processes and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency across internal applications
Required skills:
- Friendly and confident when speaking with customers, both in person and over the phone
- A positive team player who enjoys working with others and supporting colleagues
- Good communication skills, with the ability to listen, learn, and explain information clearly
- Comfortable using computers and willing to learn new systems and software
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage tasks effectively while maintaining a professional attitude
Salary: £18,000 per annum
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
