The Role

Reporting directly to the Executive Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the SME broking strategy, building a scalable SME business capable of delivering significant growth, profitability and long-term value for the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering the overall SME broking strategy.
  • Driving profitable growth through client acquisition, retention and account development.
  • Building a market-leading SME offering that differentiates the business from competitors.
  • Identifying opportunities to maximise growth across the existing client portfolio.
  • Working closely with insurer partners to ensure competitive and sustainable market access.
  • Supporting acquisition activity and the successful integration of acquired portfolios where appropriate.
  • Building, leading and developing a high-performing SME team.
  • Creating a strong sales and client service culture focused on growth and retention.
  • Using market insight and customer understanding to identify future opportunities.
  • Delivering agreed revenue, growth and profitability objectives.

About You

  • Significant experience within commercial insurance broking.
  • A strong understanding of the SME insurance market.
  • A proven track record of delivering profitable growth.
  • Experience leading broking, client service or trading teams.
  • Strong commercial and strategic leadership capability.
  • The ability to develop and execute growth strategies.
  • Experience building relationships with insurer partners and key stakeholders.
  • A collaborative leadership style and the ability to influence across a business.
  • The ambition and energy to build something significant.
