The role
As a Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and reliable movement of goods for our customers. You will be responsible for completing daily collections and deliveries, maintaining vehicle standards, and supporting warehouse operations. Your role is essential in delivering excellent service, ensuring goods are handled safely, and representing GFS professionally at all times. Key responsibilities include:
– Completing daily collections from customers and delivering freight to the Warrington depot – Ensuring the safe loading and unloading of goods – Carrying out daily vehicle checks to confirm roadworthiness, including tyres, lights and fluid levels – Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of company vehicles – Communicating proactively with customers regarding delivery or collection updates – Reporting delays, issues or customer concerns to the Operations Supervisor or support team – Supporting warehouse operations, including unloading incoming deliveries – Coordinating vehicle servicing and repairs as required – Building strong working relationships with customers and colleagues – Promoting the company’s brand values through excellent customer service and professional conduct
What we are looking for
– A full, valid driving licence, with the ability to drive the required company vehicle – Strong communication and interpersonal skills – Good understanding of Health & Safety within a working environment – Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure – A self-motivated team player with a proactive, “can-do” attitude – Ability to build positive working relationships with customers and partners – A calm and organised approach with strong problem-solving skills
