We’re working with a well-established, fast-paced FMCG manufacturer seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their site engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining production efficiency, supporting continuous improvement, and working with modern processing and packing equipment.
The Role
As an Engineer, you’ll support the smooth running of production by carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance across a busy manufacturing site. You’ll work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and ensure equipment is operating at optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Work collaboratively with operators and production teams to identify and resolve issues
- Ensure minimal disruption to production during maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, breakdowns, and installations
- Liaise effectively with external contractors
- Carry out routine inspections to ensure compliance with health & safety and food industry standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement and site projects
About You
- Experience working with electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of motors, VFDs, PLCs, and planned maintenance systems (Desirable)
- Completed an apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
