The Supply Register is proud to be working in close collaboration with a FE College to recruit an Instructor Technician – Electrical. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Electrical Installation department, supporting the delivery of high-quality Further Education programmes within a modern and supportive learning environment.
About the Role
This FE college is seeking a hands-on and motivated Instructor Technician to support practical teaching and learning within Electrical Installation. This role is ideal for someone with industry experience who is passionate about supporting learners and contributing to the development of the next generation of skilled electricians.
You will play a vital role in preparing workshops, maintaining equipment, and working closely with teaching staff to ensure a safe, organised, and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, prepare, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials for practical teaching sessions
- Ensure workshops are safe, clean, and well-organised at all times
- Support tutors by preparing resources and maintaining stock levels
- Carry out regular maintenance, safety checks, and risk assessments on equipment
- Maintain accurate records relating to equipment, materials, and resources
- Promote and uphold high standards of health and safety across all workshop activities
- Help create a professional, safe, and inspiring learning environment for students
Essential Requirements
- Relevant Electrical Installation qualification at Level 3 or above
- Experience working within the electrical installation industry
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage materials, tools, and resources effectively
- Understanding of health and safety practices within a workshop environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
Desirable Requirements
- Experience supporting practical demonstrations or working within an education/training environment
- First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training
- Forklift Truck Licence or willingness to undertake training
- Knowledge of current industry standards and practices
