Electrical Maintenance Technician (Shift)

Full-time | Shift-based (4 on / 4 off)
£49,183.68 rising to £52,612.56 after probation
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a busy, fast-paced operations team at a large-scale processing facility in West Sussex.
This role is key to maintaining plant performance and ensuring maximum availability through a proactive and reactive maintenance approach. Working on a rotating shift pattern, you will play a critical part in delivering safe, efficient engineering operations while driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns efficiently
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across a range of plant equipment
- Work on components including:
- Sensors, relays, contactors and control panels
- AC/DC motors and motor control centres (MCCs)
- PLC systems (fault finding desirable – Siemens S7 preferred)
- Support ongoing engineering projects and process improvements
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance, and housekeeping
- Report all incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly
- Interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Work with controls and instrumentation systems (e.g. pressure, temperature, flow)
About You
- Qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (HNC or equivalent)
- Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or automated environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good understanding of electrical systems, controls, and PLC hardware
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a shift team
- 18th Edition (BS7671) is advantageous but not essential
