Are you an electrically biased engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with advanced manufacturing technology, and making a real impact every shift? As an Electrical Technician at our Llantarnam bakery, you'll play a vital role in supporting the performance, reliability, and efficiency of our production operation, helping to ensure our much-loved biscuits reach customers across the UK.
Working as part of a highly skilled and supportive engineering team, you'll enjoy a varied role where no two shifts are the same. From supporting state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and automation systems to contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while helping to drive operational excellence across the site.
You'll work a rotating 4-week shift pattern covering mornings, afternoons and nights, with shift times including 6:00am-2:00pm, 2:00pm-10:00pm and 10:00pm-6:00am. The pattern averages 39 hours per week and provides 8 days off every four weeks, including regular long weekends and consecutive rest days to support a healthy work-life balance

Your Role in Creating Quality Bakes
- Be part of a skilled engineering team supporting the performance and reliability of a fast-paced, high-volume food manufacturing operation.
- Work with a broad range of electrical, electronic, automation, and production systems in a modern manufacturing environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment performance, efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Help maintain the high standards of quality, food safety, and engineering excellence that underpin some of the UK's best-loved biscuit brands.
- Enjoy a varied role with opportunities to expand your technical knowledge, develop new skills, and make a visible impact across the site.
The Key Ingredients
- A recognised Electrical Engineering qualification, ideally supported by a time-served apprenticeship.
- Experience within a manufacturing or production environment, with food manufacturing experience advantageous.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with a passion for delivering technical excellence.
- Exposure to PLCs, automation, or modern manufacturing technologies would be beneficial.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
