An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employment Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a highly regarded and growing law firm in Exeter. This role offers the chance to work with a broad range of employer and employee clients while developing your expertise across contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
This position would suit an Employment Solicitor, Employment Lawyer, Employment Associate, or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience. Applications are also welcomed from experienced Commercial or Civil Litigators looking to further specialise in employment law.

You will join an experienced and supportive Employment Law team handling a varied caseload while working closely with clients across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising employers and employees on a broad range of employment law matters
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts
- Preparing service agreements for directors and senior executives
- Drafting and updating staff handbooks
- Advising on and preparing settlement agreements
- Managing employment aspects of business sales, acquisitions and TUPE transfers
- Advising on restructuring and redundancy processes
- Drafting and reviewing HR policies and procedures
- Supporting clients through grievance and disciplinary matters
- Representing clients in Employment Tribunal and Court proceedings
- Handling claims relating to unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, discrimination and breach of contract
- Advising on restrictive covenants, confidentiality obligations and post-termination restrictions
- Building and developing client relationships
- Participating in business development and networking activities
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with Practising Rights
- Minimum 3 years PQE within Employment Law
- Experience managing a varied employment law caseload
- Strong technical knowledge of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to business development
- Desire to contribute to the continued growth of the Employment Law department
