Engineering Geologist – Doncaster
Location: Doncaster
Salary: £30,000 – £38,000
A talented multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to recruit an Engineering Geologist to join its growing Doncaster office. The business has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality geotechnical, geoenvironmental and civil engineering solutions across the residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure and energy sectors.

The Role
As an Engineering Geologist, you'll be involved in both site and office-based work, supporting the delivery of ground investigation projects from initial fieldwork through to factual reporting. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and geologists in a collaborative environment with plenty of opportunities to develop your technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising ground investigation works, including rotary drilling, cable percussion, window sampling and trial pitting.
- Logging soil and rock in accordance with current British Standards.
- Collecting and scheduling soil, rock and groundwater samples for laboratory testing.
- Supervising subcontractors and ensuring works are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Preparing factual ground investigation reports.
- Interpreting ground conditions and assisting with geotechnical assessments.
- Liaising with clients, contractors and the wider project team.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures on site.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in ground investigation or engineering geology.
- Good understanding of soil and rock logging.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A proactive approach and willingness to work on a variety of projects.
