We have an exciting opportunity available for an Engineering Night Shift Manager to join our client, one of Europe's leading privately owned food processors, at their Doncaster site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to take ownership of the night shift engineering operation, leading a high-performing team while driving machinery reliability, operational performance and continuous improvement within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.
Job Title: Engineering Night Shift Manager
Location: Doncaster
Salary: Upto £58,000 DOE + KPI Bonus
Hours of Work: 4 on, 4 off (Permanent Nights – 6:00pm to 6:00am)
Purpose of the Role
As the Engineering Night Shift Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the engineering function during the night shift. You will lead and develop the engineering team, maximise equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement across the site.
You will:
- Lead the engineering function throughout the night shift, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all production equipment.
- Drive machinery performance through preventative maintenance, reliability engineering, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review maintenance activities, manage engineering budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime and control costs.
- Work closely with Production teams to ensure engineering issues are resolved quickly while maintaining strong communication across the site.
- Ensure the engineering team complies with all Health & Safety, Food Safety and engineering legislation, whilst promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
- Have previous engineering management or supervisory experience within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
- Have strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, machinery reliability and continuous improvement, with experience leading engineering teams.
- Have excellent leadership, communication, analytical and fault-finding skills, with the ability to inspire your team and drive engineering performance.
